TWHYA Queen Contest Rules

1. Must be a paid and active member of TWHYA.

2. Must have the knowledge and drive to promote the TWH & TWHBEA.

3. Eligible ages 13 – 18

4. Completed and signed application form, release of liability form and check for $35.00 donation.

5. Judges selections will be made on the following criteria

a. 15% Written Essay (topic to be given upon registration)

b. 15% Volunteer Work (within the equine industry)

c. 15 % Speech (topic to be given upon registration)

e. 20% Written Test Knowledge of horses and breed (TWHBEA Handbook)

f. 35% Horsemanship (Class to consist of rail work and pattern)

All candidates will be given a score in each area, crowns awarded for highest overall points.

Earning the TWHBEA Queen is a privilege and you must be available to attend major shows and events throughout the next 12 months at own expense, proudly wearing the crown and sash to promote and educate the public about the TWH, TWHYA and TWHBEA in all aspects of the TWH, trail, flat shod, and padded. The Queen will be expected to act and dress in a respectable manner at all times during their reign.
